Play whatever sounds good to you. A lot of harmonica players don't play single notes a lot, and they still sound good! The great thing about the harmonica is that you can play a bunch of notes together and sound good. So, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. That being said, the ability to play single notes is also important. When you learn advanced techniques such as note bending, you have to be able to play single notes. That's a basic prerequisite.
