We are always trying to improve our shipping techniques as well as documenting why there are sometimes delays at Customs. We have found that customs at each border import crossing have their own specific issues and procedures. In most cases, there are very few delays based on our customer feedback. If there is a delay it usually seems to be a break down in communication between the consignee & the government agency. The top three delays documented by our customer service department have been:
1. waiting for a signature
2. local post office delays in the customers country
3. backlog in the custom office
